Hi,

I need a company to install the carpet for my basement in Ashburn. Can anyone recommend a good, reputable carpet company? No Empire, please.

Thanks.

I hate Empire. I think they're incompetent. Have you tried any of your local floor/carpet shops? Sometimes they have the best deals.

I've heard mixed reviews about Home Depot. I actually used them when selling my townhouse and was actually pleased with the service but when they offer those "Whole House Specials" they nickel and dime everything (i.e., how many steps, what kind of steps, a carpet pad you have to buy with a certain thickness, etc.).

that's exactly what I tried to find out; some local shops with good reviews, not Lowes or Home Depot. Anyone has recommendation?

Try Floor Store of Va. They are located in Sterling.

I just had Absolute carpet clean my carpets (they did a good job and were recommended to me). They also install carpet, but I am not sure how good of a job they do. They will do a free estimate though.

I used National Carpet and Floor in Chantilly back in 2001 to install carpet throughout my home.
They did a great job and I got a great deal. (cheaper than Home Depot)

Buddy Saunder Flooring (out of Leesburg) 571-246-5591 is fantastic. Someone recommended him to me to re-tile my kitchen floor. He was so good (great pricing, reliable, on-time, etc, etc), I used him to re-carpet my entire home, and then to provide carpet (as area rugs) in my new home. All within a 4 month period!

Highly recommended (and no, I don't work for him!)

oh, I forgot to add.....while my townhouse was empty when he recarpeted, I was talking to him about the additional cost to move/ lift furniture. he said he never charges extra for that, it's part of the price. No nickel and dime-ing with Buddy.

We used Carpet One (I think that's the name...in the shopping plaza across from the Ashburn Fire Department) to buy and install carpet in our old family room. They did a great job and we were very happy with them.
