I have to be in fredericksburg at 6:30 this evening and am leaving from reston.

What time should I leave?

What route should I take?

-267 to 495 to 95
-7100 to 123 to 95
-28 to 234 to 95
-something else?

Thanks!

If it was me, I would go

-267 to 495 to 95

And leave by 4. You might be early but do you need to locate parking?

Caveat - I have never driven your route but have gone Reston to National Harbor and that took a little over an hour, leaving at 4. Traffic was heavy but not stop-and-go. The other route possibilities have too many traffic lights imho.

I would take 7100 to 123 to 95. And I'd leave right now. Good luck.

95S rush hour traffic is horrible. You'll be on the brakes starting at the mixing bowl and all the way down to Dumfries (at least). Traffic starts to get heavy around 3.

I can't say how long it will take to get from Reston to F'burg but it has taken me an hour to get from Alexandria to Woodbridge on 395/95 and that's leaving Alexandria around 3.

Never tried 17 before but was thinking about it. I know it's a 2 lane road and a coworker told me it gets backed up, then again everything does.

I ended up taking 7100 to 123 to 95. took around 1:45. left a bit after 4:30. traffic was not that bad, heaviest on 7100 reston to fair lakes, then 95 south of stafford. 95 woodbridge to quantico was surprisingly clear.

thanks for the help guys.
