Del Ray - moderately crunchy
Old Town Alexandria - crusty, not crunchy
I wasn't aware that Brookland was particularly crunchy. But then I've only stopped through Catholic U. once or twice.

LOL @ "crusty" Old Town!

Brookland's definitely borderline crunchy!! (NE DC in general has an impressive number of under-appreciated borderline-crunchy spots, actually, but I digress.) I used to shop regularly at the Brookland Yes! Organics location and would always see a decent number of crunchy types about (and, no, not just CUA students). I could be misremembering, but an (apparently?) elementary-level school I used to sometimes walk by (in Brookland) struck me as having a free skool/unschool persuasion, and it doesn't get much more crunchy than that.
