You're supposed to do it every other year. But, there is no sticker like the inspection test. How do they enforce it?

There is a sticker on your license plate connected with registration AND the emission test.

Yup, you cannot renew your registration unless you get an emissions test in the counties that emissions are required. After you get emissions test done, the results are transmitted to DMV. If you try to renew online before getting emissions, it prompts you that emissions is required.

The gas station that does the emissions test transmit the results to DMV?
