We're both off, weather will be fantastic. We're trying to decide where to go - we like just going somewhere, seeing what we see that looks interesting to stop at (antiques/collectibles, flea markets, shops, restaurants, etc.) - a little walking around somewhere to do this would be nice also.

Don't know Culpeper for instance, we stopped there on a trip back from Lynchburg but it was a Monday and everything was closed. Winchester maybe? I don't really know it either.

I'd love some suggestions.

My favorite day trip was Harper's Ferry, but it might be a bit far depending on where you live.

If you choose Winchester, you might want to check out the state arboreturm, which is along the route. Too bad it's just a week or so too early to enjoy the spring blooms there but it's still a neat place.

Richmond isn't that far and we have some great restaurants and interesting places to see I have never been but Charlottesville looks to be a fun place to visit!

I had a whole long post on this and it's not here

I'll try again. Thanks everyone for the suggestions.

I've never been to Berkley Springs or St. Michaels - or those places to just go to and see what we find? Annapolis is probably not in the works, didn't like it so much, too crowded and it'll be a Friday. Richmond we wouldn't want to do on a Friday as 95S will probably be jammed. New Market I haven't been to in ages (back when I was single and roommates and I went there, loved it). I don't know Winchester at all, only really have been there for the flea market they had/have (Rt. 522?) just up from the dinosaur place. Shepherdstown I might have been to way back...Harper's Ferry I haven't been to in awhile either....

Keep the suggestions coming. (and hope this post shows up)

I'm hoping I hit every point but may of missed something - I'm also on the phone now (and annoyed that the previous post disappeared)

For Richmond, 95S should be fine if you were leaving NoVA before 2.

I haven't decided yet, LOL. I may Google some towns (Berkley, Winchester...) and see what comes up.
