Can anyone point me to information about how the Constitution Ave reconstruction that starts on April 11 might affect wider traffic? I've seen several articles about the mechanics surrounding the project and alternate routes, but nothing that would estimate the ripple effect beyond the Potomac bridges.

I am asking because I'm still recovering from the Ohio Drive work that took most of last year that changed what should have been a quick commute over Memorial Bridge into an hour-long crawl to go two miles on Washington Blvd.

If Constitution Ave will have the same impact, and last for years and years (because no way will it be done by early next year, like it's supposed to be)...

...I may just have to jump off one of our bridges.

Default Apocalyptic Traffic Conditions

OMG, I am concerned too especially after the 14th Slug Line fiasco. I would hope the Park Service and DDOT coordinate traffic. I haven't seen anything either on the spillover effect. I will post a link if I see anything.

The Dr. Gridlock column from March 22 offered some insight. (So Not Looking Forward To It)

Whatever you do, don't jump off the bridge! That will only make traffic worse!

I totally agree. I never understood DC's problem with slug lines. They're one of the best things about living here.
