Hi there. We're moving to Northern Virginia next month and need to know about school districts. I've heard a lot about TJ and think my child will be well-suited for it. Which elementary and middle school districts should we live in in order to increase his chances of admission? We're willing to move between elementary and middle if we need to, to get the best schools.

Would we have a better chance if we lived somewhere there isn't as much competition, like Loudoun County?

Obviously we will need to get him in the GT center; do you know any psychologists who are better at doing this than others? We are prepared to make a significant donation to his/her research fund in exchange.

My son will be in kindergarten next year. Thanks!

Oh man, I fell for that. Why is it so hard for me to remember today's date?

Too late. If he hasn't been attending one of the best local preschools, you can forget about TJ.

Little known fact - any high school student living in that school's zip code is offered automatic admission.

Yep, and those preschools have waitlists MILES long. If you didn't get on the waitlist when the child was in utero you won't be able to get in.

Can anyone recommend a psychologist who does fetal cognition testing?

The best one is in Colorado. There is a 6 month wait-list, so you are best to schedule an appointment for intake at the same time as the 8 wk obstetrician appointment. I am fairly certain you need to submit both a digital ultrasound video as a condition of intake. Oh, and the practice does not take insurance.

Is it too late to tell everyone of the great new route I discovered that can get you from any place in NoVA to Montgomery County locations (and vice-versa) within 20 minutes during rush hour? And they opened an In-and-Out Burger and Wegmans along the way, too. It's called "the 51".
