Jeez, I'd better get me a scarf or I'll start lusting after women.

On a similar note, I had 4 members of my family visiting from the Midwest this past summer, and they all refused to use the umbrellas (I had 3 in the trunk of my car---don't ask) I gave them. I guess it's still considered too "gay" to use them in Omaha, so I just let them get drenched.

Are you possibly getting scarves and cravats and ascots confused?

Scarves I really think are for warmth. Cravats and ascots....a bit English and if not English then somewhat questionable.

In much of rural, Midwest, Southern, and Rocky Mountain America men view wearing scarves as something women or fey men do. It is interesting to see the popularity of scarves on men in DC.
And what's next? Communism?

LOL, coincidentally I see we made the top three on another one of those silly lists. This one was Metro Areas Where You're Least Likely To Catch A Cold or something like that. Maybe this is why.

I have to agree with that. 5 guys in my office are currently sick or recovering from some crazy bug. I've somehow managed to stay healthy and I wear a scarf. Coincidence, I think not...
