So does that really mean, "50 means 60"?

Well, don't mention that in traffic court if you ever do get pulled over. The guy I mentioned earlier, mentioned to the judge that he thought there was a 5mph grace....so maybe that is the reason the judge laid into him on the meaning of what a 'speed limit' really means.

Though - on 66 in the mornings....I feel comfortable going 65 passed cops. I guess they figure they'll wait for the bigger fish.

What it really means is that your commute on 7100 will take ten minutes longer. And of course, everyone's consciousness of the speed laws will be raised. Until about May 5, by which time everything will be back to normal.

Yup, it's like the All Hands on Deck that they do in DC. More cops on the street that weekend and crime slows down temporarily. Then after the weekend, a triple murder.

One thing I learned (and it works on the police too), if someone is tailgating you and you are going the speed limit or faster, just go slower and slower and slower and s l o w e r... It doesn't take most tailgaters long to get fed up and pass you. That is assuming the person tailgating you isn't parcheesi blocked in which case you might just frustrate them and get them angry.

Another thing I do if I don't feel like slowing down, flip up my rear view mirror so I can't see the person behind me anymore. Then it doesn't "feel" like I am being tailgated.

In other words... the weather forecast calls for super nice weather during the next two weeks and the county is in need for some supplemental cash infusion...

Don't test that theory on Maple Avenue at night, however, or you may have a rude awakening.

May 5th? Don't you mean May 1st? It says "until 4/30" in the announcement. Now that everyone knows when it ends, they'll be careful until then.

Yes, so let us all DENY them their ill-gotten gains! It's SO easy, especially with cruise control!

(sigh, if only there was such an easy (or ANY) way out of my five-figure quarterly payment to the IRS that's due Monday...)
