I live in Manassas and commute to Front Royal. It takes me an hour and I have a reverse commute. I am 20 minutes from Chantilly if there is no traffic. I'm 15 minutes off I 66 at exit 44. If you leave early AM then a one hour and 15 minute commute is realistic. If you don't leave until after 600-630 then I'd count on much longer. Warrenton is the same although a little closer. You don't have an interstate from Warrenton until you reach Gainesville.

Default I'm here! And I LOVE IT!

Just wanted to poke my nose back in and thank people for their advice. I found the home of my dreams in Upperville (just west of Middleburg, on Rt 50), and I'm driving about 50 minutes each way.

I decided to rent for a year while I got settled in, and I think that was a good decision -- except now I'm in love with the Upperville/Middleburg area, and I can't afford to buy anything there!

But seriously, I am in love with this whole area, I love Middleburg, and I love Leesburg to death, and I'm just giddy.

Not really a farm, but a house with acres and horse facilities, yeah. Wish I could afford to buy it!

I commuted from Warrenton to Chantilly for about a year. 29 can get a little congested right around the 66 exit but the real crappy part of the commute is once you get on 66 at Gainesville. I actually avoided 66 and took back roads off of 29 which really cuts down the commute. People from Warrenton who do the commute all the time will be able to tell you those back roads. It usually took me 45-60 minutes to get in everyday during peak rush hour.

29-15-50 bad option?

Congrats on your move and thank you for checking back in. It's always good to hear back from folks and hopefully you can be a regular and share your new insight.

I love riding my motorcycle around Middleburg. It's a really beautiful area.
