Hi All,

I have two questions, I tried looking in the history of the forum but couldn't find any similar answers, so I would appreciate any input:

1- If I live in Burke Center and commute for work to Bethesda on daily basis (regular hours), is this considered a reverse commute? is there such a myth as the "reverse commute"? Any body there in Burke center commutes to similar places (Bethesda, Rockville, etc)?

2- What is the average utilities cost for a townhome in Burke Center? (3 Beds, 2.5 Baths, no basement, no gas, all electrical)

Many thanks in advance. Being new to the place is tough, did a lot fo research but I would like to hear something from "real people" facing these "real" issues.

Your Burke-Bethesda commute will be very tough especially in the PM. Not sure what your utils will be, I had a 2BR townhome built in the 1980s that was about 150 or so for electric.

Thanks, stpickrell. Do you think it will take longer than an hour and a half in the evening? (driving)

1. Your commute will be tough. I would not categorize it as a 'reverse commute'.
2. I have a 3-level townhouse, all electric (heat pump). My bill for last month was $70. My bill for Jan. and Feb. was about $180 for each month.

You would definitely be going in the direction of traffic the whole way. I would guess about an hour or so each way, with afternoons taking longer, and 1 1/2 hours not being too uncommon, especially on Fridays, rainy days, construction days, etc.
