Any Caps fans out there? What do you think of this new goaltender, Braden Holtby? He made 35 saves. Way to go, new guy!!!! IMO, that made him the decisive factor when the Caps beat the Maple Leafs 4-1, and he made it a very good hockey game that was a lot of fun to watch.

Go Caps! The Redskins are boring, but the Caps put on a good show!

Well, I'm a Red Wings fan from birth but the Caps are pretty good too. I like hockey way better than the other sports.

I don't really follow hockey. Where are we in the season? Beginning, middle, or towards the end? Are the Caps doing well? Does it look like they'll be contenders for the Stanley Cup?

I see the Sports memorabilia shop at DTC has photos of Capitals in the store window, but no photos of the Redskins. I guess that says it all.

Just tonight my son said that he would like to go to a Caps game. We mention it every so often, but the ticket prices are really high. I can't see paying that much.

Middle of season. All star break coming up soon. The Caps are doing pretty good. Contenders for the Cup? I'd say yes, but they have to overcome playoff disappointments the last 2 years to make it all the way.

I love the Caps. Grew up playing hockey in this area and started watching the Caps back when Home Team Sports televised their games in the 80's. While we're in a kind of golden age for hockey in this area, I hate the way the team is playing this year. They've morphed into a dump and chase, neutral trap, snooze fest team. I understand the thinking. They've consistently come up short in the playoffs while playing a run and gun style so McPhee/Boudreau have placed an emphasis on defense. My problem with that is they're forcing some of the best offensive players on the planet to grind it out like a bunch of 3rd liners and frankly it's not fun to watch. That said, GO CAPS!

Defense wins championships! That said, I agree with what you're saying.

With 11 victories in their last 12 games, the Caps are headed to the playoffs for a fourth consecutive season.

I think they stand a good chance at being Southeast Division champions. Tonight they take on step the Ottawa Senators. Go Caps!

The Caps really need to get some playoff wins to put the choke label behind them. I'm hoping this will be the year that they do it. They seem to be peaking at the right time and their goaltending seems to have tightened up just in time. I'd like to see them win it all, of course, but I think it is critical that they at least make it to the Stanley Cup finals if they are to finally earn some postseason respect. GO CAPS!!!
