Was nothing else asked of the volunteer? No "think of a number, multiply it" kind of questions?

I can already tell you guys are thinking of the number 69.
I thought of 56. Tried this on my buddy, and he came up with 99.

A Peter, Paul, and Mary song comes to mind.....but written by Noel Paul of the trio I believe. Here's the chorus:

It's magic, you don't want to know
Just how its done, it will ruin the show
You've just got to believe
Cause believing is what makes it happen
Oh, it's nothing but magic, magic....

I was at a kid's birthday party last weekend and saw the same trick, only the kid didn't name a bird (was this in Vienna by any chance?). But the kid didn't say "bird," she said elephant or something. And the trick resulted in a white dove.

I think that most kids say "bird" when told not to say dog or cat, which is something the magician said to her (her first answer was "dog").

Yes, this was in Vienna, so we are talking about the same magician! Can you tell me what did the magician say to justify making a white dove appear when the kid named a different animal? I am sure he must have used humor, but I am interested in the dialog.

Now I recall that it wasn't elephant, she actually said "Ostrich"! So at least it was some form of bird. As I recall, the dove appeared and he said something about how it wasn't quite an ostrich but he guessed the magic figured it could not fit an ostrich in the box.

All in all, I thought he was pretty entertaining. As for the place... I don't know if you guys had moon bounces in the lower room first, but I was a little concerned about the safety of that -- not nearly enough padding around that room and way too easy to fall off a side. I think a kid is going to get hurt there someday, but luckily the kids were all safe at the party I went to. I think places like "The Little Gym" and similar are a bit better for young kids' parties, though they don't have the magician.

Yes, the moon bounce in the lower room was a joke. But the kids played on it only for 10 mins or so. This place is a house that's converted into a party place so the area is cramped. Yes, the magician was okay. However, I was surprised that they did not let the small kids take the balloons since they wanted to use them for the next party!!
