Geico has always quoted me a lot less, so I've stuck with them. Neither of my cars is valuable enough to warrant collision coverage, I only have liability.

I use Statefarm for my autos, but Progressive for my motorcycles since they are cheaper for 2-wheelers.

Is it just for 1 car? We have Allstate, but only b/c they give great muti-policy discounts. We always have the house and 2 cars (sometimes 3) and they usually knock off appx. 35% for each. They also seem to weigh your credit score quite heavily, so if it's good that helps too.

I'm in Arl. rather than FFX Co., but State Farm gives me a very good price for auto-home-personal liability. They have been great about claims in the (distant) past and are responsive when I have inquiries.

I will say "ditto" to what ACWhite said. We have had State Farm for 18 years for all of our insurance needs and never have had a problem.

We use Geico and have been quite pleased. We switched from Allstate and saved a couple hundred per year but this was many years ago. The best thing to do is call around and get different quotes. Geico has been very responsive in handling our accidents even a couple of vandilism problems I had when in South Carolina.

I used to have State Farm. Then I was in a car accident on September where my car was totalled, and I got a fine on December (illegal u-turn). After that, they sent me a letter saying they were dropping me and i couldn't renew my policy with them.

I now have Progressive and I'm happy with it, very cheap compared to the rates Geico was offering. So I think Progressive may be good for a driver with a bad record.

It's really sad how I ruined my driving record in four months. *sigh*

I second that, after 31 years with State Farm.

To those with SF for a long time, do you check periodically other insurance companies if you can save money by switching? I'm a long time SF customer myself (Home/Auto), but recently switched my motorcycles to Progressive. Progressive was cheaper for my bikes than SF was. I checked my cars, and it was the same price though. I use the same agent my parents use so I felt a little awkward cancelling, but he never made a big deal about it.
