I am moving to Springfield pretty soon and one thing my 6-year-old daughter has been asking me about are dance classes. I told her I would look into it after we move. Does anyone have any recommendations for dance schools/classes in the area? Specifically, I will be in West Springfield, but I don't mind driving a bit.

Also, a place that offers a dance summer camp might be nice (it would be good to let her try dancing for a week or so in the summer to make sure she really wants to do it before plopping down money for months of lessons).

Thanks!

The Center for Ballet Arts is in Fairfax on Lee Highway not too far from Shirley Gate Rd. My daughter has friends that took lessons there.

Also, I checked their website and they do offer a summer camp.

Dancesations isn't the one near the libarary. That is Metropolitian. Dancesations is on the corner of Telegraph and Hayfield, near the highschool.

There is also another one on Franconia, at the opposite end of Beulah, Strictly Rythmn.

Oh my, thank you for catching my error!

I guess it was called Metropolitan.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone! It's too bad one of them doesn't offer something in late August, but that's okay, a mid-summer camp would be nice as well. Now I just have to figure out which one!

August camps - especially late August ones - are very rare around here, I have found. You are lucky if you can find a camp that lasts through mid-August. Everyone seems to abandon the DC area for the last two weeks of August.

I am looking for community theatres for my 10 year old. Any near West Springfield or Burke, VA?
