Woodstock is about an hour away from Winchester so it may be a longer commute than you would like.

I lived in the Northern Virginia area most of my life and found it wonderful but has grown very congested with too much traffic. We lived in Front Royal for 14 years and it was quite a culture shock at first but we learned to love the country feel that the area has to offer.

When we moved to Winchester last year, I loved the city feel without all the traffic and crowds.

Winchester has a wonderful hospital - one of the top 100 in the country - and we also have Shenandoah University here. Consequently there are areas here with very well-educated people that I did not find in Front Royal.

You may want to lease a home for the first year to see how you like the area and take the time to explore the area to see where you want to settle down. I wish you and your family the best with your move and welcome to Virginia!

Woodstock is only about 35-40 minutes away from winchester, I know bc i live there and travel to winchester often
