I have been contacted about a teaching job in Reston but my family will be living in Centreville (the east side of the beltway so that our son can go to Centreville High School). Earlier I had inquired about the commute to Oakton on Lee Highway and was told that it might be a 30 minute commute around 7 a.m. which would be about the time I'd be making the commute. What about the commute from Centreville to Reston? It seems like I wouldn't be on a major road like Lee Highway so would it be an easier, shorter commute? Thanks folks! This commute stuff can get the best of you :-)

It's about 15 miles. Figure out the quickest way to get to Fairfax County Parkway (7100) from wherever you are and it's a straight shot north from there. There are some alternatives as well, but even though northbound traffic may be a little worse on 7100 than southbound, at 7:00 am, you should do pretty well.

Great! Thanks for that tidbit! Sounds like it wouldn't be any worse than driving to Oakton and possibly a little easier! :-) Appreciate all the help!
