Anyone have positive/negative experience with Dranesville Auto off of Rt 7 west (just before the 7100 interchange)? I live in Sterling so this place might be better for me vice going to my mechanic in Fairfax for a simple oil change.

If you have used this place, what are their rates for synthetic oil changes? what is their labor rate? Do they allow you to bring your own OEM parts?

Thanks.

No experience with that place but, if you live in Sterling, I'd recommend Ashburn Service Center in the Ashburn Village Giant parking lot. I have had nothing but great experiences with them. Avoid either of the Goodyears in Ashburn like the plague... I've heard nothing good about either of them (relating to deceptive practices and outright lies).

What kind of car? If it's a Volvo, BMW, Mercedes, Audi or Saab you can take it to Ashburn European in Sterling. It's off of Cascades Parkway on Woodland Road.

I've always wondered about this place. I'm curious about how difficult it is to get into and out of the station, since it's on a stretch of Rt 7 where the cars go flying by and visibility's a little bit limited due to the incline.

BTW, almost next to the station is an old mansion that was once used as a civil war hospital. Way back then it was far out in the country, but now it's at the interchange of 7 and Algonkian Parkway. Talk about a building that's seen some history... and now is almost completely forgotten.

I take my car to Virginia Tire and Auto on the corner of Algonkian Parkway and Cascades Parkway in Sterling. I always use synthetic oil and usually bring my own but this last time I didn't. The total charge for the oil change and lube was $67.45, which included the synthetic oil.

I don't remember what it was the times I brought my own synthetic oil. They are always courteous and have a shuttle service if you don't want to wait. I have had other work done there and I am pleased with their service.

Thanks for the recommendations for the other places. I live right down the street from Ptex Motorsports, on East Holly Ave.

Does anyone have any good/bad experience with this place? My vehicle is a Toyota truck. I have my own filter, I just need a shop to order the synthetic oil and change the oil.
