I'm kind of thinking that this is overstating it a bit. I live in Gaithersburg and commute to Arlington. I am still sane. (at least I think I am ). Living in Maryland is probably much, much wiser if you work in Rockville, but it's not going to kill you if it is necessary to live in Virginia. In my case, I'm looking to move closer but have yet to find a place that is equal to, or better, than where I am now.

Is that because it's reverse commute? How long does it take you each way?

That's not a reverse commute at all. 270 gets pretty bad during rush hours. I leave a bit early (6:30 am) and it's no0t bad at all. However, I'm really just dropping my wife off at that time. I have to drive during rush hours in various places around this region, so I get to see it all.
