I am relocating from CO to MD for a job at Andrews AFB. I am originally from VA, so somewhat familiar with NOVA. What is the commute like from Alexandria to Andrews AFB? I have looked at apts in prince georges county but have read some bad reviews concerning crime etc. I am single, so that is a huge concern of mine. My budget currently allows for $1300, anyone have any recommendations on areas to look at with a max commute of 30ish min??? thanks for any feedback

Alexandria may have what you're looking for...other posters have mentioned the apartments close to Huntington Metro (I think it's called River Place? Not sure on the name). Kingstowne might also be a good bet. I'd say anything along the 495 E side of NoVA might fit the bill. Good luck!

The apartment I think you're referring to is called Riverside. That's a great place. Most of the apartments in PG around Andrews, really are bad. Stick with Alexandria, your commute will be easy.

Alexandria will be fine. If you're single, no kids, the places further North/East might be okay (Bowie, Laurel, etc.)
