I saw Pat Buchanan once at Safeway in McLean. Robert DuVall at a restaurant in Middleburg. Who are some other celebs that live locally?

Based on info from a former job:
Willard Scott
And that pilot guy, Scott, who got shot down in Bosnia in the 90s

I left this job in 2000, though, so they may not anymore

Added: Don't know if he owns his unit anymore, but Larry King used to live part-time in a condo in Rosslyn.

Willard Scott was born and raised in the Rosemont section of Alexandria, attended American University, then for a long time has lived on a farm in Fauquier County VA (although he worked in NYC).

As far as celebrities who live here, outside of the political and media communities, the only people I can think of, off hand, are Linda Carter (Loudon County horse country) and Mary Chapin Carpenter (Old Town Alexandria). Shirley Horn (Upper Marlboro) died a few years ago, as did Wilson Pickett, who lived in Ashburn.

Quite a few Hollywood stars own property out here, either as investments or to have a place to stay so they can fly in and dabble in national politics. It's quite the hip thing to be a movie star who addresses congress or is otherwise involved in politics.

Forgot to mention that Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters, Nirvanna) still owns the home where he grew up in North Springfield----he stays there from time to time.

At the National Zoo, I saw the guy who abused Kevin Spacey in "Swimming in the Sharks". He also shot Jimmy Hoffa in "Hoffa". He was also in Pulp Fiction. Can't remember his name. Don't know if he's local.

He was just walking around enjoying our free zoo.

Oh, yeah - he owns a restaurant in Alexandria. I met him through the same job I mentioned above.
