Hello,

I just wanted to ask those of you who live in the area if there are any other middle eastern restaurants in the area besides Falls Church/Alexandria? I live in the Bailey's Crossroads area at Skyline, and I know there are a lot of options for Middle Eastern Restaurants, but I wanted to know of others in the area?

The Lebanese Taverna has branches in Arlington (in the Westover neighborhood on Washington Blvd.) and it also has a branch at the Galleria in Tyson's Corner. The food is awesome.

Kazan in McLean is a very good Turkish restaurant.

Shimshiry and Friend's Kabob (in Tysons), Amoo's in McLean and Rose Kabob in Vienna are all good places for kabobs (with Rose Kabob our favorite).

The shawarmas at Tarbouch on Lee Highway in Arlington are pretty good, too.

Best falafel I've ever in DC area is at Max's Kosher Deli over in Wheaton, Maryland - definitely worth the occasional trip.

Some favorites:

Ravi Kabob in Crystal City has probably the best kabobs I have ever had! They are also open 24 hours a day so you can stop in for midnight munchies!

Plaka Grill in Vienna, VA has by far the most authentic and delicious Greek food (esp. the Gyros) that I have ever had!

Jaipur- Indian Cuisine, located in Vienna, VA, also has great Indian food, supplemented with decor that makes you feel like you're in another country.

Happy eating!

Middle Eastern Cuisine/Market is a little hole-in-the-wall establishment in downtown Takoma Park. It serves up some of the best Lebanese fare I've tasted in the Metro area. Definitely worth a car trip (or a short walk from the Metro station).

Default Mid east

"Middle Eastern" covers a wide variety. Kabob Palace in Crystal City has been a favorite for years, though it is Af-Pak related, not Lebanese.

I second Amsterdam Falafel. I am also a big fan of Pita House in Old Town Alexandria.

we've always liked Food Corner on Little River Turnpike in Annandale. The food is absolutely delicious.
