I wouldn't even waste the time calling the DMVs...I'd just walk away. There are other cars out there with regular titles that don't have weird issues. I know you really like it but...it's just a car. Don't get hung up on this one.

I have an 06 Toyota Corolla with about 90K miles on it. Would you be interested? You can have it for whatever you were going to pay for the other one, and I've got the title!

I don't think the OP is interested in basic transportation...he/she is probably into the "classic" part of it.

Although IIRC, '74 wasn't a great year for cars, it may well be worth the trouble if it's even a semi-unique vehicle....or if the OP just likes it. It's not likely that there's a lot of them around.

Remember, they just found an unmolested 1937 Bugatti Type 57S Atalante that had been sitting in a garage for 50 years. Estimated value: over $4 million!

And I think Jay Leno recently acquired a Dusenberg that he found in New York. It probably didn't have a title either...

Thanks for all reply, I appreciated it.

And yes, Im into classic car. This car is not thing special in market but I like the style and they dont make it no more.

If I can sort the problem out, does anyone recommend which is cheapest way to bring the car to Virginia? I talk to couple car transport agent, it cost me $1300- $1500 to transport it here!

Oh sorry...I missed that part. Nope, probably nothing from 1974 at Carmax.

The only '74 vehicle I can imagine really wanting would probably be a Dodge Monaco "Bluesmobile" replica....other than that, not a lot of models from that year I'd be terribly interested in.

Did watch that show a couple of weeks ago where Jay Leno acquired a Dusie...it was in some garage of a pretty dumpy looking house and actually was something like a mile from Jay's shop. (This was his second, maybe the first one came from NY) But if the OP is in a position to be looking for cars like that, then I don't think he'd be concerned about the cost to transport it!!

Is it legal for a dealership in Virginia to sell a car with an open title? They bought the car from an auction in Maryland and never registered the car in Virginia. My daughter loves the car but I have concerns that I wont be able to register the car in Virginia because it's an open title. Any advice you can offer would be helpful
