Default Hope this doesn't so too dumb but is Northern Virginia Virginia Beach?

My husband and myself have been considering moving to Virginia Beach for a LONG, LONG time and I think we are just about ready. We have a toddler boy now and we like him to have some nice fresh surroundings. And I hear nothing but good things about Virginia Beach. We currently live in RI on the line of MA and the rent is absurd here, jobs are hard to come by and its an extremely competitive market. Both my hubby and I have college degrees and loads of job experience and still have can't get a job after about 15 interviews combined. Hubby just got laid off and is collecting unemployment and I took time out of the job market to stay at home with our son. So we have no income coming in and we are finding impossible to get an apartment for a decent price and jobs.

Apartments here in a decent neighborhood go from 750. to 1000. monthly w/out utilities usually.

How is it in Virginia?

Virginia Beach is not a part of NoVa. It's in Southern Virginia. You can go to forum for Hampton Roads.

The housing market in Hampton Roads is also expensive. The prices for apt are about the same ($750-$1000). A lot of military here. Not too many jobs for civilians.
