I agree - the problem is Eric Cantor. This man, for his own selfish reasons, is prepared to block a deal and keep millions of Americans in uncertainty.

Personnel dedicated to safety, security, and the preservation or protection of government assets are typically excluded. Thus, they are an exception to the usual rules. Those apply to unfunded operations, however. Reaching the debt limit is a whole different story. There aren't any usual rules for that. No one yet knows for sure what exceptions there might or might not be, or how the situation would be handled at all.

LOL I find it funny how the news stations keep interviewing people from his town who don't agree with him.

As big a reckless and ambitious jerk as Cantor might be, he's still just one guy. The problem lies with the lunatic backbenchers of the Republican Party who would have him as their leader.

The Dems should just go along with everything the Repubs want (future spending cuts and no tax increases) and then put it all back in the next Congress when they're in charge after the 2012 landslide. Just be sure all the cuts occur after noon on 1/3/13. One session has no control over what a subsequent session can do.

2012 landslide?
I hope you are right! I am sick and tired of the stubborn, selfish behavior of the GOP.
For the GOP, the middle class does not exist.

When all else fails, evoke class warfare.
