Default Work Visa
Hi everyone,

I am a permanent residentin USA. My fiancee has a tourist visa and planning to get married next year- anyone has any ideea how long it might take to get the work permit and a green card?

K-1's (fiance) used to take around 6 months but I'm not sure that's still the case now. IR/CR-1's (spouse) can take 6-12 months I believe. It's been a while since I worked with visas though.

The important thing is that the person does not overstay their current visa and does not obtain employment on a tourist visa. It will likely stall the fiance/spousal visa since they will check (harder) for fraud.
