Default Commuter Bus Living Loudoun County to Alexandria, VA

I will be relocating to the Virginia area next month and will be living in Aldie, VA (which is in Loudoun County near Dullles Airport) and will be working in Alexandria, VA (Edsall Rd area). Does anyone know if there is a "commuter" bus that I could take daily? I really don't want to take the Metro, unless that is the only alternative. Driving daily, I already know is totally chaotic! Thanks for any help........

I don't know of one, but maybe somebody else does. Even if there is a bus, it will be a very long and tedious trip every day. Is there a reason you have to live in Aldie? Commuting from Aldie to Alexandria is going to be awful, whether by car or bus.

You best bet for "commuter" bus would be the Dulles South to Rosslyn and then hop on the Metro to Alexandria.

I have no choice but to live in Aldie, VA now because my girlfriend is letting me live with her until I can get on my feet and find a place closer to Alexandria. Can you suggest any closer area to Alexandria for rental of a house that is reasonable ($200,000)? Thanks.

Do you mean a place under $200k near Alexandria? I assume you just want a 1BR place, there's a couple 1BR places in Old Town, more 1BR places near your work (with a few 2BR places). I assume no kids or the such.

Hmm. You could drive to Vienna Metro, then take it to Rosslyn, transfer to the Blue Line, take the Blue line to Van Dorn, then take a bus. It'd be a couple hours. WMATA has a trip planner on their website that'd give you the bus you'd be taking.

Is driving an option for you? It might be faster than public transportation since there is no direct bus or train (probably an hour, maybe a bit more at the peak of rush hour).

Default Thanks for the Suggestion

It really sounds like I'm going to have no other choice but to drive unless I want to spend hours going from one traveling source to another, i.e., drive to metro, then take a bus, etc. I guess I'll just take a bottle of "Patience" pills and just drive...............
