I guess I'd rather go to a bar in Nova and hear people talk about work....
than go to a bar in a lot of other cities and have to listen to people talk about how their unemployment ran out.

Failed miserably. I own a cadillac, I'm in a white collar position in a blue collar field and actually make physical things, that's correct, manufacturing. And above all else, I was born in Washington, raised in Maryland, live in NOVA. And to top it all off--don't bother me on Sundays!

I would rather go to a bar and not hear anyone talk about work. White collar work up here tends to be boring or if its not boring then its usually classified and you cannot talk about it anyways. I like going to blue collar bars where work stories are things like "I put in a new AC unit for a guy and he decided to not pay. So that night I shot up his new unit with a bb gun. Its hard to get a finger print off of a bb."

Yeah definitely sounds better than: "So get this. Marty tried to me to order 10 Wizbang gadgets. I told him, 'You know Marty I can't order that without the proper Requisition forms? Didn't you get the TPS report?' I have to go, I got a meeting with the Bobs."

That sounds more scintillating than what I hear at Happy Hours:

1. Let me tell you about the hilarious thing my grandson did today.

2. Did you hear what those goddam idiots at the White House/Congress/Tea Party did today?

3. Did you see the Chinese Acrobats at Wolftrap? You want to see acrobats, you should see the stretches I had to make when the mosquitos started biting. (Then falls off bar stool demonstrating how to reach a certain bite area.)

LOL but by the time love beads came along my daughter was wearing them not me. I was a mom, although I had the tie dye, and the bell bottoms, and went to the rallies with her. The losers I found so interesting when I was young and foolish were people I met a decade before Woodstock. People like that have always existed, and young people regularly fall for them. Until they wise up, anyway.
