Hi there. Can anyone advise as to how long the commute will be from Vienna to downtown (Capitol Hill)? I realize it will depend on where in Vienna, whether I drive or take the Metro. I'm just trying to get a sense of it. Thanks!

From Vienna Metro, it will probably take 45 minute as you will have connect to the red line. Factoring in the time to drive to the metro station, walk to the metro, wait at the metro, wait to connect to the redline and walk to your office; I am guess it might take just over an hour.

Thanks, that's helpful. One more question -- how does this compare to living in North Arlington? Would the closest metro stop to there be East Falls Church or something else?

Depending on where you are going on The Hill you may not need to transfer to the Red line. Capitol South stop is on the Orange line.

The Metro Trip Planner is very handy.

Sorry, JfromReston was right. If you mean to go to Capital South, there is no need for connection. The metro travel time is around 40-45 minutes.

N. Arlington has several Metro stops--EFC and all the ones east through Rosslyn on the Orange Line. You'll get more space for your money the farther west you are.
