Verizon fios is now available in my condo development. Up until now, Cox was our only cable/internet/phone option. Verizon is offering a really good 2-year deal that would be substantially less expensive than my current Cox bill. I'm curious about how those of you who have, or have had, Verizon feel about the quality both of the product and their service. Thanks.

We've had Fios for a year now. No complaints. We're getting basic cable channels and high-speed internet for about $90/month including all taxes. Pretty happy with it. That's for only one STB, but we only have one TV.

FiOS, and be thankful you even have the choice, says this resident of Alexandria.

Fios man. We've had it since it was available in our neighborhood. Picture is great, internet is to die for. Support isn't bad, though it does suck trying to get ahold of a human. They've been good to us though, no complaints.

How difficult was it to cancel the COX service? Did they offer any kind of special deals to get you to change your mind? Did you have to go through hoops? Will they pick up their boxes or do you have to drop them off somewhere?

Thanks, everyone. I appreciate your input. The consensus does appear to be to switch to Verizon. The strike does have me nervous about when I could get it installed. I have not called Cox yet to see if they can offer me a better price to keep my business. I guess I should give that a try before making my final decision.

We love Fios. I hated Cox.

Been with Cox for the last 10 years and never had a reason to complain. Wanted to switch over to FIOS...tried twice (because of the good deal)...but the first instance, the Verizon technician never showed up (apparently they lost my order!) and the second time, the technician showed up on the wrong day! Third time might be a charm, but I have yet to try it out!
