I signed the lease 2 days ago in fairfax and I went to check before I move my stuff in yesterday. I see roaches and bedbugs in the apartment. I went to homedepot and bought raid fogger and stuff like that and used them in the apartment. After 2 hrs, I went back to check again and I see hundreds of dead and alive roaches and bedbugs. I did the fogger again and after 2-3 hours I went back and I see more. Now I feel I made the mistake.
Can I cancel the lease and walk away? Please help.

Probably. If they don't allow you to, at least for a small fee, then call the health department. I think there are some rules about renting a place with bedbugs, or at least some policies they have. And there is this:

If there is a specific law, I can't point to it. Did you rent from a private landlord or a company?

Definitely contact the consumer affairs office, and also consider the (free) local Legal Aid office. And take plenty of photos of those roaches.

If property management person does not help, I heard it might work to contact the legal department of the property management or maybe higher up and if they don't let you out of the lease you can start to make a stink . I don't think it is worth the trouble and bad publicity for one lease.
