Chicken killer on the loose in Fairfax | InsideNova

"FAIRFAX, Va. -- Thirty-two chickens are dead and another 46 missing in Fairfax County after something or someone broke into their coop overnight Thursday. Some had puncture wounds, some were mutilated and others were dead but didn't appear to be wounded at all. Perhaps most mysterious of all -- 46 chickens are missing without a trace. No blood trail, no feathers."
Police are looking for a man spotted in the area described as "an old Southern-style gentleman with a white goatee", dressed head-to-toe in white and answering to the title "Colonel". He was said, as seen by a witness, to have the letters "KFC" on his lapel, and police think this may be his initials. More at 11:00...

Seriously, if my neighbors started raising chickens, a similar story would be written followed by an invite to the neighborhood block party and chicken roast! Bring your own potatoes!

A similar thing happened to my sister-in-law's ducks. They live out in the country and had ducks in a fenced in pen... only one duck was found and it had puncture wounds. I think they concluded it was a fox or raccoon.

Yeah, this sounds like the work of some sort of animal(s) - especially the puncture wounds part. I have a feeling sharp little canines (the teeth, that is) were involved.

Have the Chicken Killer and the Butt Slasher introduced themselves to each other?

Sounds like a fox to me. We've had an increase in the fox population lately.
