My husband and I are looking at a townhouse in the subdivision Independence in the Manassas/Haymarket area. I noticed that there are an inordinate number of homes for sale in this neighborhood and was wondering if anyone knew a reason? It seems to be a nice area but looks can be deceiving.... Any help is greatly appreciated!

Real estate sales in that subdivision have been depressed for quite some time now. Those town houses were selling for $425K when they were new. Now, they are worth around $230K. As a result there have been a HUGE amount of foreclosures and shortsales in that neighborhood.
