Haven't been able to find any decent radio stations since moving here ... particularly talk shows.

Western PA has Pittsburgh's KDKA, which I sorely miss. RIP John Cigna and Fred H. Atlanta had Neal Boortz, Clark Howard and a variety of talk shows from gardening and home repairs to financial and legal issues.

Am I missing it? Does it exist? Don't recommend political programming. Don't want to listen to a bunch of hot air!!

Do I have to go to satellite radio to get what I am looking for? Guess I'll investigate that further.

WMAL AM 630 has that type of programming on Saturdays. I especially like Ric Edelman's financial show in the 10am-12 slot

The only talk radio station I know of here is WTOP--and it's mostly news and weather, I think.

I suspect you may find more talk radio on the AM band.

I listen to WETA classical and WBJC (Baltimore) classical on the way to work. And on the way back, I switch between DC 101 and 105.9 (classic rock).

Yeah, I found WTOP. It is a good station if you have ADD because it is the same thing over and over, hour after hour. If you miss something the first hour, it will be repeated again shortly!!

Will have to give 630 a try.

Problem is when I let the radio search for stations I think it stops on maybe 3 or 4 and then just recycles the search again. Maybe there aren't many stations out there. Just surprised.

Have you tried WAMU 88.5 or C-SPAN Radio 90.1?

Head down to the low numbers and pick up NPR or C-SPAN radio.

Music on the radio here is just awful. I think it's because it's such an expensive market that nobody wants to give up the bucks playing to the masses to do something niche. Everything's done based on Arbitron. Radio is often much better in less affluent places.

I really haven't listened to local talk radio since Don & Mike left the air really. But really to be honest I haven't listened to much radio, period, say for the occasional weather and traffic report on WTOP
