I live in western Loudoun and was all over the area tonight, Lovettsville, Purcellville, Hamilton, Middleburg, all the way to Upperville, and saw no problems at all. I don't know why we escaped all the problems that everyone else is having.

Was stuck in traffic on 66 yesterday afternoon to get to Manassas but that was because of heavy rain and very minimal flooding....28 was heavy with water but nothing anyone couldn't get through and then had to go to Woodbridge that evening....more traffic but not super bad and there were a couple of times one of the lanes had water but it was just a little overflow. Still nothing that compared to being in Vermont a couple of weeks ago and the flooding they had there, that was devastating and that was nothing like I'd ever seen before. I guess just coming off of that in my head - this around here is rather chinsy. I think we're lucky here in Virginia, Pennsylvania seems to be the one that might get the worst of this particular storm and it could be rather devastating for them. Guess they're going to have to get through another couple of days to make sure that river doesn't crest above the wall.

My heart goes out to all with flooded homes. Been there. You feel really powerless when water is coming up in your basement and there is nothing you can do.

We had a raging torrent of a mini river flowing between mine and my neighbors house. All headed towards a storm drain. My pump has been working overtime. Thank goodness it didn't cr*p out. Also, thanks to dominion power for keeping the juice flowing and allowing it to run. If not, I would have probably had a flooded basement, too.

I feel bad for people with flooded homes too - it's terrible.

Check out these pictures. They are from the West Springfield Little League:
WOW! I have a similar picture that a friend took of the park by our house. As of late afternoon yesterday the water was already covering the swings.

Took an hour last night to get home to Reston from Arlington, guess it could have been worse. Basement did flood though.

My neighbor's basement flooded around 8:00 p.m. last night (in Woodbridge). First and only time in 16 years.

Some of the images on the news today were amazing. I heard the Little River Turnpike really was a river. Did you see that video of the lady in the Mercedes on 123? Scary. My heart goes out to everyone who had damage--flooding is not fun at all.
