Does anyone have a suggestion for a restaurant that is halfway between Oakton and The Plains? My cousin is down for a visit and staying in The Plains. To complicate things, I have to drop my son off at preschool and be back by noon. Any ideas?

So I can assume you're looking for a place for breakfast? At the Gainesville exit (Rt 29 south) there is a IHOP in the complex to your left as soon as you get on 29. On 234 business (exit 47 I think) there is a Bob Evans just south of 66 on 234. Once you get off onto S/B 234 stay in the right lane and you can't miss it.

Forgot about Mimi's. OP-They are both in the same complex off 29 as soon as you get off 66.

Yep. Forgot about that one also.

OP. If you need directions to any of these let me know. All right off 66 but Mimi's is a little hidden.

I think Mimi's sounds like the winner. If I drop off my little guy at preschool (in Franklin Farms area of Herndon), what is a ballpark estimate of time to get there? Thanks again for all the great suggestions!

You don't say what time but assuming around 8-830 you're looking at 30-35 minutes. You're going against traffic for the most part. If you get off on to 234 business for Cracker Barrel or Bob Evans you'll save about 7-10 minutes.

For Mimi's take 28 to 66 W/B. Exit onto 29 South at the Gainesville exit.

Go to your first light and turn left on to Rt 619 Linton Hall Rd.

Go through the first light and turn left into the complex at the 2nd light. You'll see Mimi's off to the right in the corner. Very easy to see.

Anyone here know if the OP will have any issues with construction traffic coming into Gainesville this time of the morning? I haven't been this way in the early AM for some time.
