Affordable young professional housing in Arlington
I recently graduated college and started a job in Washington, D.C. and am looking to move into the Ballston/Clarendon/Courthouse corridor of Arlington sometime soon. I have heard this is a great area for 20-something young professionals, and I know people who are living there on modest entry-level salaries, but I can't get a feel for the most popular and reasonably priced apartment buildings and complexes.
It would not be a problem for me to find a roommate as I have many acquaintances in the area, but the online listings for 2 bedroom apartments in this corridor are still very pricey. Someone told me that there are buildings that have one bedroom apartments with 'dens' or enclosed porches that can double as a second bedroom--therefore allowing you to split the rent for a one BR place between 2 people. Does anyone know which apartments these are or how/where to find them?
