Default Moving to Chantilly, VA

My family and I are moving to Chantilly, VA. We are purchasing a home in the $500,000 price range. What areas should we consider moving to that would allow no more than a 25 minute commute to Chantilly? Also we want the neighborhood to have a good elementary and middle school. Are there any areas that we should avoid?

You could consider South Riding, and just about anywhere in Chantilly would be around that time frame.
But you would also need to consider your commute times - that makes a big difference.

What commute times are you looking at?

I would suggest Chantilly, Herndon, Reston, Fairfax or Burke.

But I would suggest you try to avoid 50 and 28 as much as possible. We learned the hard way that traffic on these roads stinks. My husband commutes to Ashburn, and his commute home takes at least twice as long as it used to from Ashburn to Reston.

If the job is in Chantilly, live in Chantilly.
South riding is very family friendly and has very good schools, no need to make a bad commute when the area you are in just fine!
Many people live in Chantilly and commute to DC etc...

You could also look at the Brambleton and the rest of Ashburn. But seriously I would look no futher than South Riding.
