Hello NOVA,

I just moved here with my job and I am single. I know that Arlington is
the place to be if you are single but the drive was too much for me as I
work in Chantilly. I only had 5 days to find a rental so I ended up in Herndon.

So now I am looking for meet a nice woman to date and wanted to ask for
some suggestions for either happy hours, clubs, or bars. Does anyone have
suggestions in the Fairfax, Reston, or Herndon areas?

I know there is a place called Clyde's in Reston but I have been unpacking
so I haven't made it out yet. Is Clyde's a good spot?

I know the suburbs are limited for the dating scene but I am betting there
are a lot of single women out here who don't want to drive into Arlington
to meet someone.

Thanks..

from JfromReston's list,
Jacksons, the American Tap Room and Uncle Julios all seem to have big happy hours on Fridays and probably are happening Saturdays too.
Also there are other restaurants in the Reston Town Center (where those 3 are) where you can go for quiet dinners once you have met someone and want to go somewhere less loud.
I would also add the Tasting Room in the Reston Town center if you are into wines. It is much smaller, around the corner from some of the ones mentioned but there are some lookers there on Friday and Saturday nights and they also have live music. It is a good place to mix before you take a date to the movies say.
Good luck and welcome to Northern VA.

Thanks sjankis630!

So far it looks like this (correct me if I am wrong on any of these):

Herndon:
Night time Bar: Carpool Herndon
Night time Bar: Jimmy's Old Town Tavern
Night time Dance Club: Ned Devine's Irish Pub

Reston:
Happy Hour: Jackson's
Night time Bar: Clyde's Restaurant Group :: Restaurants:: Clydes_of_Reston
Night time Bar: Tasting Room in the Reston Town center
Happy Hour: American Tap Room | Reston, Va :: American Tap Room (http://www.americantaproom.com/reston - broken link)
Happy Hour: Mon Ami Gabi
Happy Hour: Uncle Julio's - Fine Mexican Cuisine - The freshest and highest quality Border Style Mexican Food

I went to Ned Devines last night. The ratio of guys to women was about 6:1.
Is that par for the course out here in the suburbs?

Thanks guys!

Bars are not typically such a good place to meet women. Try in addition some of our finer grocery stores, coffee shops, and book emporiums.

I like Denny's. It's where everybody go after visiting the lists above I do agree with the coffee shops and bookstores though.

+1

Also, if you're looking for a serious relationship, I'd avoid it even more.

Go to bars because you like the atmosphere/the people you're with, not because you want to meet women. Come to think of it, unless you're in the top 10-20% of looks, doing something just to meet women will usually come off as pathetic/slightly creepy.
