Hello. I'm in a similary situation - we both work full-time and our 11 month old baby is in daycare. He's had several ear infections and colds and I've had to take off quite a few days to care for him when he has been sick.

You might post an ad on Craigslist and/or in your neighborhood (HOA newsletter if you have one) for an on-call sitter. We've had same issues lately, I've had to miss work and don't get any paid time off. Stinks!

A (very) pricey but good option is
White House Nannies . I believe the fee is $300 annually, and then you are eligible to use their temporary nanny services. Their hourly rates are on the higher end of DC-centric nanny rates.
