Hi,

We are looking for good play based preschools near the East Falls Church stop. We will initially need a temporary place for our sons, with the goal of signing a full one-year contract for the 2012-2013 year.

We are not looking for a crazy competitive place, just a bright and happy, social environment.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Julia

do you have a preference for religious over non religious? there are a whole bunch of preschools that are affiliated with churches in that area (Westover Baptist, The Falls Church Day School, Dulin Coop Preschool, etc). Also, are you looking for this year? That might be kind of tough since most places fill up pretty quickly.

Thanks for responding! We are Christian and are open to a Christian or Secular school. Do you happen to know if any take students on a weekly or monthly basis? Eventually we will be looking for a school for next year too.

None that I am familiar with do a weekly or monthly basis but you can always call and ask. Most of the preschools around here send out registration packets in Jan or Feb for the following school year so you are in a good spot for next year. You might look into a Mother's Day Out Program through one of the churches for this year. I think Westover Baptist might have one.

Are you looking for a part-time preschool program, or for full-time daycare?

Most of the church-based preschools mentioned above are part-time (2-3 days per week for 3-4 hours per day). Not sure there are any full-time daycare centers in the EFC area. When we lived there, most working parents used family daycare, nannies, or took their kids to daycare centers downtown in federal government buildings.

Our Savior Lutheran School in Arlington just started a 5 day a week 1/2 day Pre-K program that still has spots! Lead Teacher has Master's Degree and fluent in Spanish and Aide teacher is also a certified teacher. Great school! Also spots in K-8th. www.osva.org
