My personal favorite would take place in DC, but you can Metro from NoVa: a Caps game!!

This only applies for late May to early September: Bring a picnic to the lawn at Wolf Trap for a show. One of my favorite things to do and many shows to choose from each summer. You are permitted to bring your own food and beverages.

A walk along King Street (especially east of Fairfax St./City Hall) towards the waterfront.

A walk along Mt. Vernon Avenue in Del Ray.

Plenty of casual restaurants to pop into - or formal restaurants to pre-plan for - in each neighborhood, depending on the mood you're looking for.

Ice skating at Reston Town Center -- very, very low key -- and pretty under the sparkling lights. Then dinner at one of the wonderful restaurants. There's quite a range of prices available.

Wolf Trap, in Summer. The Barns or the Kennedy Center in Winter. Care for Pinkberry?

I love Top Golf in Kingstowne (they have heated bays, so it's actually a possibility on a mild winter day)

Renting boats at Burke Lake

Free outdoor movies in Rosslyn on Fridays during the summer

Not in NoVA, but the DC Improv has got to be my favorite part of the entire DMV region.

There are murder mystery dinner shows in Crystal City

I love the Perils of the Lost Jungle, especially for a first date. It's been rated one of the most imaginative mini golfs in the US:

Pick an event at the new(ish) Hylton Performing Arts Center. It's a spectacular facility and a lot of the events are not that expensive.
