Hey All,
We bought our house over the summer, and one thing that has been plaguing me is the small ugly builder grade white (which is really turning grayish now bc of the dust) ceiling fan.

The family room in my house is two story with a cat walk behind it that is essentially a hallway to the bedrooms that overlooks the family room and the foyer from up top (house is built by NVhomes).

I am wondering if it is feasible or even possible to rent scaffolding to get to this height? The cost of a ladder/scaffolding to reach I would assume would be close to just paying a handy man to do this and save me the headache?

Previous owner had the entire house painted prior to moving in, ceilings and molding included so that degrades the fact of buying such equipment that I may need in the near future.

Has anyone done this before?
Any insight or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

We rented a mega-tall ladder to replace 2-story light fixtures. Don't recall it being overly expensive - like less than $50. But, we had 3 fixtures to replace so it was worth it to us to do it ourselves. We rented from a place in Sterling......might want to check with Home Depot rentals about pricing and availability.

We hired an electrician to install a fan for our 23 foot ceiling. They brought in a 20 ft ladder. I think they charged me $120 or so. That ladder took up my whole family room, much larger wouldn't have fit.
