What is Front Royal's classical and folk music scene like? Is there a local symphony? Are there chamber groups in the area? Are there teaching opportunities for classical musicians? Also - are lessons available for violin, cello, piano, organ, oboe, and other instruments? Is there a local chorale or choir of professional quality?

With respect to folk music, are there many local bands groups that perform regularly? I'm thinking of Appalachian fiddle, Irish/Celtic, etc. Thanks in advance.

Front Royal Oratorio Society (Facebook link; their real site seems to be out of commission) - "Bringing fine choral music to the Northern Shenandoah region for over 40 years."

Thanks to both of you. I also turned up the Blue Ridge Singers, who look pretty fabulous! Apparently there are no classical music string performing groups in FR, large or small - at least nothing online that I could find. The conservatory in Winchester looks great.

I play in Loudoun Symphony and many players from out in Winchester play with us.

There are a few members of the DC Chamber Music Meet Up from out that way.
