I'm looking at dopplar and it's showing that Winter Weather! is here - I see nothing outside. I know it's odd but I was/am actually looking forward to SOMETHING. Anybody see anything?

Flurries in Annandale near NOVA (as in the community college).

If you are a weather junkie, I recommend the American Weather forum (American Weather - United States Weather Information and Discussion) and go to Regional Weather Discussion and then Mid-Atlantic. Lots of meteorologists post there as well as weather forecasters - including several folks from Capital Weather Gang. They post nearly 7 x 24 observations when a weather event is going on.

Snow started in Chantilly. I could tell they pretreated the roads this afternoon. When I was coming home from Reston around 7:30 there were already two or three snow plow trucks sitting beside the northbound lanes of the FFX Co. pkwy waiting. Glad I have plenty of chores to do here at home tomorrow.

Same here in Springfield, but we are on the "cold side of the street". We just got home about 30 min. ago and it was starting to stick on the side streets.

I hate when snow days are wasted on a Saturday.

I have to go to a class this morning. Hope the roads aren't icy. Sounds like driving there will be ok but coming home could be interesting.

Why would it be worse coming home? Isn't the precip becoming rain and moving out?
