As a big Badger/Packers/Bucks fan, I was just curious because I often see on this forum that people say a lot of the residents here are transplants. So is everyone here a sports fan of all sorts of teams?

I know that in Boston, people are really die-hard fans of their Boston pro teams, but I assume its different in this area?

It's really tough to be a Washington DC sports fan because our local teams aren't exactly what you would call "elite"; simply put, they all suck. Redskins, Wizards, Nats, United, all are languishing in finished near or at the bottom of their respective divisions. It's tough, but you dealw with it because there's always hope that someday, maybe someday soon, our teams will start to not suck anymore.

I brought my die-hard fandom of Boston sports teams with me.

There are rabid Washington Capitals fans here. They comment on my Bruins memorabilia displayed in my office.

Depends on where you're from and/or just who you like: I'm a Steelers fan, husband is Packers.

I tend to root for the under dogs or for teams that haven't made it to the Super Bowl before. I also root for the Giants and the Broncos because I know people connected to those teams. Sometimes I go to a party at a friends house in Pittsburgh; on those years I root for the Steelers, too. Locally, I like the Caps but don't care much one way or the other about the Nats or the Redskins.

I see a TON of Redskins fans around here...I'm in Western PWC.

Personally, I'm a fan of all the New England/Boston teams. I lived there until my early teens and most of my extended family is still there.

I like the Capitals, but overall I am a Philadelphia girl. Was born and raised about 15 minutes from Philly, moved down here to be w/ my husband after we got married - long distance relationship for the win! Ha. But because I've lived here for 4 years now, I support the DC teams but will always love the Eagles/Phillies/Flyers.

Anyone playing the Redskins.

No, seriously, Eagles, Phillies, Flyers, Sixers. You can take the girl out of Philadelphia, but you cannot take Philadelphia out of the girl. :-)
