I agree, well put saganista. Although, having lived in the area for 19 years now, I don't refer to a group or individual as "y'all". I'd have to differ on that point. lol

I would give my right arm to move back to the Midwest.

The diversity everyone talks about here just means that the people are balkanized and have little in common. It is dog eat dog here with tons of TYPE A types who work 12 to 14 hours a day. Wealth and Power are more important in the DC area. than family or friends. Most people are more interested in their career than anything else. Lots of snobs.

The only thing better here is all the neat places to visit for day or long weekend trips.

What's preventing from doing so?

And this coming from someone with "Workaholic" in their user name.

As for the other comments, I am very TYPE B so I probably don't run in the circles of the TYPE As. I've never witnessed these things at all but I'm probably running with a dumb crowd.

Alanboy that's for the info and the website, it was very helpful

Welcome to northern VA! The others have given you good answers. I just wanted to emphasize that if he's working in DC, Leesburg is really too far to commute. Yes, there are people who do it, and yes I love Leesburg (as many of you know). But, as much as I love Leesburg, it's really not worth it if you're commuting to DC.

ps. I'm a Type B person too. Believe it or not many people here aren't workaholics.

Type B, enjoy relaxing, understand my time is just as important as money. I think if you think everyone is Type A... its probably a justification as to why you feel you have to work 70 hour weeks. Do what I did, take the noose off, stop worrying about getting the dream house, and you're life gets much better

Chances are those people you might be pissed off at aren't even from the area and at the same time those people are also pretty type b when it comes to doing things like their hobbies.
