Hi

We are moving to VA and are considering purchasing beef from Hollins Farms, not being from the area, would like to know if anyone can recommend this farm, or are there any other farms that sell natural meats you have purchased from and can recommend.

thanks in advance

We've had some good meats from Fields of Athenry. You can go to the farm or get home delivery.

I haven't used Hollins Farms, but I would definitely recommend La Cense Beef. They have delicious Natural Beef and will deliver it right to your door. There grass fed beef is humanely raised, rich in flavor, and even comes with a satisfaction guarentee. I would definitely recommend giving them a try.

Go to the local farmer's markets -- Arlington and Falls Church both have farmers there who have pasture raised beef, bison, pork and chicken. Try a few different providers and see who you like to deal with best. All the meats are sold frozen at the farmer's markets due to health dept. regulations, but you'll get a wide variety to select from.

Once you have found a farmer you like dealing with, then it is fairly simple to set up a larger purchase such as a side of beef to put in your freezer.

This is the approach we used to pick Hollin Farms. We bought fresh after buying their frozen beef first.
