LOL, while suburb bashing is annoying I suppose there's a silver lining to it. The more TE lashes out, the more he bumps this thread to the top of the page. Therefore, he publicizes the very program that he hates so much and is single handedly attracting more people to go to the web site and support the new bus. Thanks TE!

By the way... a lot of the people I know in Loudoun who read this forum tend to read it during the weekends, so if we can keep bumping it for the next two days we might really help this program.

What can I say, I'm here to help?

Hey I only get mean about it when people say things against living closer in like we live in "boxes". The same people who are on this thread are the same people that when new people move to the area lead them to believe that living out farther out is great! And to that point I get pissed because you are just making the traffic and budget issues more out of balance in this area until eventually the entire regions economy will collapse under the weight of the budget needs. You think you are helping your lives, but by doing so you are collapsing the entire regions economic capacity.

Frankly I'll probably stop posting on this forum since its just absolutely loudoun and PWC centric and it just gets on my nerve more than anything to try to explain how you guys who think you are just living your lives will be the end to this areas (MoCo, LoCo, and FFX) wealth. Hopefully by then I'll be retired and gone.

First, living out farther is great for many reasons. It is also great to live in close. People are just trying to say that there are benefits (and tradeoffs) to living in both areas. You refuse to see both sides.

Collapsing the entire regions economic capacity?!? Really?!? Because of increased traffic?? I'm sure you have actual evidence of that happening in other areas, correct?

Still waiting on the definition of "prolly". Can't seem to find it in my Websters.....

Oh the horror of it all. Loudoun is increasing their bus service. How do we sleep at night?

For the record, I'm one Fairfax poster who's already noted being favorably impressed with what the developers sought to achieve with Brambleton. The economic viability of a bus service will or will not be shown over time, but it's a signal of people looking to alternatives to a long drive each day by car, so why not applaud it? As the saying goes, don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good (particularly when not everyone has the same view as to what's perfect).

For a point of clarification, this is a specific thread in a local forum on a particular topic. If one wants to debate urban planning issues, please do so in the appropriate forum as this is not the proper thread for that discussion. Thank you.

Living in Loudoun is great, I'll agree. You enjoy living in Tysons, and I'm all for you saying that life there is great too. Saying that we enjoy where we live shouldn't be taken as a criticism against you for wishing to live in Tysons. It's simply an observation that life here in Loudoun is good, and will be even better with this new bus service.

Getting back to the bus issue, I walk to work quite a bit and usually pass several people walking to the Lowes Island bus stop. If they didn't have the commuter bus system in Loudoun, there would be a few hundred more people driving every day. It's not like eliminating the buses would mean those people would stop living out here. I think it's better for everyone to have a system that takes at least a few hundred cars out of traffic each day.

It gets on my nerves being beaten over the head with an opinion that is just that, an opinion.

Brambleton is fine. Thumbs up. The bus is gonna work perfectly, without any hiccups. No need to analyze anything. You should censor someone who was asked a question if you look back on the thread and answered that question. Moderator cut: Discussing moderation No one really ever got back to me after I made the point on the sustainability of the system, something that was in question about this bus route and is on topic seeing as parts of these systems do come from public funding. For the same reason anytime WMATA does anything Loudoun county people complain even though its not their system, they say "state money" is going towards it. Are you saying this bus route will be devoid of all DRPT funding?

Either way, I could care less, I've made my points, regardless of whether they were deleted or not. I apologize for offending anyone, I'll avoid any discussion threads from now on about Loudoun or PWC so as to not ruffle any more feathers. If I do so, I would appreciate it if you don't come hunt down my threads as well and chide in, as was done last time I stopped discussing loudoun issues, which brought me right back.

Can't tell if that's sarcasm, but I think bus service will be fine to the brambleton area. In all honesty, it will serve the area well. It will be even better whenever the Metro gets here. Honestly, if I still live in brambleton 5 years from now and I have a job in dc, I'd take it.
