Default fitness centers near Vienna

Hi, I was wondering if you know of any fitness centers that are in the Vienna VA area but i have a special request. I am only in town visiting my brother for a month or two months tops and would like to workout with a gym and a personal trainer. I do not have a car! and do not drive! so I am specifically looking for gyms near metro stops?? I looked online in google but I cannot find any that is 5 minutes top walking distance and I do not want to walk 10 plus minutes as I already have to walk 10 minutes to get to the Vienna metro stop from my brother's house. I welcome any advice on what I should do about the personal fitness instructor and more importantly any info on the nearest fitness center to any metro not too far away from Vienna.

Thanks!

Vantage fitness in Falls Church is about 1.5 miles from West Falls Church metro (perhaps you can get a good jog in) I have heard a lot of good things, specifically from women, about Vantage fitness. You can take the bus that goes down 123 to Sport and Health in Tysons (but I havent heard good things about it).

Theres also a sport and health again in Ballston next to the ballston metro, but if you want a personal trainer, I would really avoid Sport and Health (also they charge alot for month to month membership).

I would really suggest Vantage, even if you didnt want to jog there from WFC metro you can take the bus which leaves west falls church metro down route 7 and has a stop near the gym. From vienna in non-peak commuter hours, I would say it will take you 15 minutes from Vienna to WFC (including waiting for a train) and then 10-15 minutes for the bus to the gym (including waiting for the bus).

No worries in this area too, both Vienna and west falls church are very safe neighborhoods.

There's a Gold's Gym on Gallows Road not too far from the Dunn Loring Metro.

If you have access to a bike you might have a short bike ride on the W&OD trail to Evolution Health/Fitness on Dominion Road right in the town of Vienna (north side). Evolution is right off the W&OD trail:

You're asking for a lot considering there are only 2 metro stops in the Vienna area: Vienna and Dunn Loring. West Falls Church is the next stop and isn't too far from Vienna. Your best bet would probably be XSport Fitness in Merrifield. It's near the Dunn Loring metro stop and is closer than Golds. It's not very far...less than 1 mile and a straight shot down Gallows Rd. It's a nice gym and they have personal trainers.

If you have access to metro you have access to lots of options, not just Vienna. There is a Bally's in Pentagon City, (blue line) and I think there is at least one center in Crystal City. The name escapes me.

Do you think i should stick with one of the gyms near vienna and take a bus or take the metro (which is more expensive) and travel out to DC. For instance is Oak Marr RECenter any good for gym use- its 30 mins by bus total travel time in Vienna?

For fun? Not for the gym?

For travel to DC I would take the orange line right out of Vienna to downtown (though downtown isnt where the fun is, but you can take it to Farragut to get up to the fun parts).

For the gym, I would say stick to the gyms nearest to vienna, I'm sure there about 30 good ones to choose from all within a mile. NOVA has a lot of gyms everywhere. What specific part of Vienna are you? cross road intx?

No not for fun...for working out in a gym and getting some personal training if possible. I know there are many good gyms in vienna but its all driving accessible only. the closest I found with buses and metros is Oak Marr RECenter so thats why i was wondering if its good for not. Going to vienna metro is 10 minutes from my house walking distance, taking the bus is 15 minutes and the REcenter is 4 mins walk when I get off...Anyways i wish i had a car cause all this is really creating a hassle for me. The one to one training centers are great cause they pick me up from my house but its 500 dollars per month??!!!!!! I even tried looking up bootcamps nearby but to no avail.

Studio B Fitness - One-on-One Personal Training is right on maple avenue right in the heart of Vienna, which all around this region of Vienna is absolutely walkable. Now if you live away from vienna, really towards dunn loring, I completely agree its tough to walk anywhere. At gallows in Merrifield there is a Golds Gym, I have gone to them, their facilities are usually very good.

Are you south of Vienna Metro, or North of Vienna Metro? This makes a difference due to I-66.

I definitely dont think you need to go to Downtown DC just for a gym. I mean, at a minimum you could go to Downtown Arlington instead.

Thats the bus map for Virginia. You have got to have a bus somewhere in there that can take you to where you need to go instead of oakmar.

If you are at the north end of Vienna there is also Spring Hill Rec Center. If you are south of 66, you might be closer to Providence rec center. If you are south of 66, but farther west of 495 you might consider Underground Athlete if you want a harder cross training gym.

Trying to help, but really need to know what part of vienna your in, Vienna encompasses a huge area of Fairfax.
